A sports centre with Californian charm
Milberry Farm
Olympic flair near San Diego
An avenue of mature trees leads to Milberry Farm with its inviting front that reflects the Californian sun. Framed by green shutters, one horse's head after the other peers out of the horse stalls so that they don’t miss any of the action in the riding arena. Just half an hour from the metropolis of San Diego, a facility has been created that has an outstanding level of comfort and the highest standards. As the home of Argentinian show jumper Guillermo Obligado, himself an Olympic equestrian, Milberry Farm offers ideal conditions for show jumping up to the top level and combines the busy everyday life of a sports facility with a luxurious flair.
The Californian farm is a hive of activity when all the keepers and riders are at work. The horses are taken out of their stalls several times a day for training or exercising. This means a lot of strain on the Röwer & Rüb open-plan horse stalls – but this is no problem:
"Everything still looks like new," says the manager of the renowned stables. “We are very happy about the level of quality and durability.”
A no led to a yes
Before deciding in favour of Röwer & Rüb, the Milberry Farm team conducted a great deal of research, compared various manufacturers and sought advice. Why was the long-established company from Lower Saxony the final choice? "We were particularly impressed by the fact that Röwer & Rüb rejected some of our ideas", commented the facility owners. "It was emphasised time and again that the company would not supply any products that did not guarantee one hundred percent quality. Röwer & Rüb was not prepared to sell us a solution that would not meet our expectations. With this approach the company earned our respect – and therefore also won the contract to supply our horse stalls."
Focus on the horses' needs
They added that it was a leap of faith to have customised horse stalls made in Germany for a Californian stable, some 9,000 kilometres away. "But the design, the measuring process and finally the construction of the stalls went completely smoothly. We were very impressed."
Thanks to the semi-open fronts of the "Berlin" model with a mounted cross, the horses can follow what is happening in the stable aisle. The powder-coated elements in deep green are coordinated with the look of the typical Californian shutters and emphasise the high-quality overall appearance.
Milberry Farm proves that German quality standards and Californian sunshine go together perfectly with timeless charm and a design that puts the needs of the horses fully at the centre of all considerations. "Nothing compares to the quality, durability and functionality of the German Röwer & Rüb horse stalls”, the owners add. "They look beautiful, work flawlessly and have completely exceeded our expectations."
