A haven in the heart of Wellington

Private equestrian facility in Florida

In Wellington where the highest standards are the norm, this exclusive project has created a place of tranquillity and retreat. Where there was once a busy boarding facility, there is now a modern dressage complex that embodies one thing above all else – total commitment to horses.

From the outset the new owners had a clear vision. They were not aiming to carry out cosmetic renovations, but wanted to fundamentally change the whole orientation towards a place where aesthetics and horse welfare are viewed as one. The result is an installation that exudes tranquillity and is inherently harmonious.

Designed for horses, made for everyday use

The complex is centred on the 16 spacious horse stalls, equipped with “Berlin” stall fronts supplied by Röwer & Rüb. Powder-coated surfaces, two crossboards and exclusive handles round off the design which is complemented by bamboo panels that bring warmth and a natural feel to the stable’s atmosphere. Integrated ventilation openings help maintain a balanced stable environment – a crucial factor in Florida’s climate.

A key feature of the design is the new layout of the partition walls, which incorporate openings for social interaction. They allow the horses to interact with one another or groom each other’s coats without compromising on safety. The concept also allows the necessary flexibility, as the openings can be closed at any time to allow individual horses more peace and quiet if necessary. The dimensions of the stalls are also generous. Combined with well-designed processes and high-quality materials, the result is an environment that gives the horses plenty of space while also making daily work easier.

Smooth transitions and a clean, minimalist design

Unlike traditional, fully enclosed stable aisles, this facility has an open design. The architecture reflects Wellington’s warm climate and creates seamless transitions between indoor and outdoor spaces. Light, air and movement define the sense of space.

This openness is complemented by clear, consistent styling. From the stall fronts and partition walls to the stable and tack room doors and barn doors, all elements have the same theme. The washing area also blends seamlessly into this concept. The result is a harmonious overall impression – timeless, of high-quality and consciously understated.

Expression of a modern attitude

As impressive as its appearance may be, the approach behind the scenes is just as crucial. The inclusion of social interaction openings is a prime example of a modern approach to horse management – one that focuses on their social needs and individuality.

This private dressage centre in Wellington is far more than just a refurbishment. It is the result of a strong commitment to quality, consistency and to an environment in which horses can truly thrive.
