Aubenhausen: Where Closeness Makes the Difference

The new Social contact partition for even greater well-being – developed by Röwer & Rüb and Olympic Champion Jessica von Bredow-Werndl

In Aubenhausen, the home of Jessica von Bredow-Werndl and Benjamin Werndl, the horse’s well-being comes first. Every decision, every structural measure, and even the smallest detail on the property reflects their deep understanding of the needs of their four-legged partners. For the two top athletes, one thing is certain: only when horses feel seen, heard, and understood can they reach their full potential – both physically and mentally.

Jessica and Benjamin have long worked closely with Röwer & Rüb, a traditional company from Lower Saxony. According to Bredow-Werndl, “Sustainability, quality, safety, and durability” were decisive factors in choosing Röwer & Rüb. Together, they have already created solutions to make modern horse keeping in Aubenhausen even more horse-friendly – most recently, an innovative Social contact partition in the stall partition walls that enables interaction between neighboring horses.

Enabling closeness, ensuring safety

“We take our cues from nature,” explains Benjamin Werndl. “Our goal is to keep the horses as naturally as possible. That includes outdoor movement as well as interaction with one another.”
Years ago, Jessica felt the desire to do even more for the horses, as the multiple Olympic gold medallist herself recounts: “It is our highest priority to give the horses the best possible life. So I asked our long-standing contact at Röwer & Rüb, Marc Poppel, what we could do to allow the horses even more social interaction.”

The result of this close collaboration: an innovative Social contact partition that can be flexibly installed into the partition walls of horse stalls. It allows targeted, controlled interaction between neighboring horses and consists of a sturdy, curved pipe structure, which can optionally be closed with a grille insert.

Born from practice, made for practice

“I was surprised at how quickly and easily the system could be retrofitted. It is sturdy, well thought out, and absolutely practical,” says Benjamin Werndl about the new Social contact partition. Today, the solution has become part of everyday life in Aubenhausen: “The horses feel safe and loved; they play together, nuzzle, and sleep nose-to-nose. And we take no safety risks,” explains Jessica von Bredow-Werndl. For her, this project is proof of what close partnerships can achieve: practical innovation, safety, and quality of life for horses.
She says she is grateful that this special project could be realized side by side with Röwer & Rüb. Looking down her stable aisle, the Olympic Champion concludes:
