The vision of an Olympic competitor becomes reality

Stal Ehrens

A modern sports facility that is tailored down to the last detail to suit the needs of top riders and their horses – we are talking about Stal Ehrens. Rob Ehrens lives and works there with his family. As an Olympic participant, long-serving national coach of the Dutch show jumping team and a mentor who is in demand around the world, Ehrens has made outstanding contributions to show jumping for decades. Today, together with his wife Vilja, son Robbert and daughter-in-law Evie, he devotes most of his time to his own show jumping stables which are located not far from the small town of Weert in Limburg. Riders from all over the world flock here to learn from Rob Ehrens.

Family business & training facility

"It's a family business,” comments the Dutchman. It is therefore not surprising that a great deal of attention to detail was paid to the stables at every phase of the planning process. Ehrens told us that they had previously lived in another facility and had become "accustomed to the wonderful quality of Röwer & Rüb". In 2016 when the date for the move to his own farm finally arrived he therefore did not hesitate to turn to the traditional company from Lower Saxony to make his own very personal dream come true.
"Functionality and quality were particularly important to us," the sought-after coach recalls. "You can theoretically build a beautiful facility, but if it isn’t compatible with the everyday life of a sports stable, it's no fun in the long run. We made sure that every piece of equipment suited our needs and processes." With the all-round advice and support provided by Röwer & Rüb, everything was built exactly as he had envisioned.

"Throughout the entire project the company took us by the hand and gave us very useful support."

Conscious decision in favour of quality

Today the Dutch facility is a hive of activity. The Röwer & Rüb oval horsewalker can accommodate up to ten horses. With the open view the horses feel comfortable and can regularly enjoy their relaxed walking sessions. The 36 spacious stalls of the "Hannover" model combine a luxurious style with uncompromising durability due to their powder-coated fronts combined with galvanised partitions. This creates a stylish overall look – with the horse at the centre of focus. With their robustness and many small details, the stalls are ideal for the everyday life of professional riders. "We deliberately chose Röwer & Rüb," says Rob Ehrens. "It was a decision to invest in quality. With Röwer & Rüb you make a decision for life."
