Horses as partners
The Aubenhausen equestrian facility is one of the most important training centres in Europe for dressage horses.
The Aubenhausen centre located to the south of Munich rightly calls itself the "Home of the Dressage Horse". The family business, run by brother and sister Jessica von Bredow-Werndl and Benjamin Werndl, specialises in training talented dressage horses – from young dressage remounts to experienced Grand Prix horses. In recent years Aubenhausen has become one of the most important training centres in Europe..
Holistic training concept
Jessica von Bredow-Werndl and Benjamin Werndl, together with their experienced team of riders, pursue a holistic training concept and try to establish partnerships with the horses. They know that horse and rider can only achieve the best results when they work together. “The love of horses and enthusiasm for equestrian sports best describe our philosophy. Training young horses and helping them unfold their potential in the sporting world, winning them over and helping them enjoy their daily work – this is what we want to do in Aubenhausen," they explain. Both are internationally successful trainers and dressage riders themselves and are members of the German Olympic squad. Jessica von Bredow-Werndl was, among other things, Team World Champion with the German dressage team at the 2018 World Equestrian Games in Tryon (USA) on her horse Dalera BB. She is currently ranked third in the world. Benjamin Werndl also among the German elite. After winning several World Cups, he finished in the top ten of the world rankings for the first time in 2020..
Sporting successes
Horses played a large role in the lives of the Werndl siblings from an early age. They were already able to chalk up numerous sporting successes as junior and young riders. Their successful horses came to Aubenhausen as three and four year olds and were carefully trained. They helped the Werndls to win more than 100 advanced (S) level victories, 20 medals at German Championships and European Championships for Juniors and Young Riders (2002-2005). These were great joint successes for both the horses and their riders. In their home town of Aubenhausen, Jessica von Bredow-Werndl and Benjamin Werndl have made their dream of working with horses come true. In their work they combine their passion with the utmost professionalism. They always take great pleasure in discovering new talents among the young horses, developing and training them, entering them into competitions and celebrating their successes together with them.
„The best part for me is doing what I love every day – living, learning and having fun with horses.“
Jessica Bredow-Werndl
Her brother also appreciates being able to work with his sister. “Being able to help each other out as siblings is especially rewarding. We regard ourselves as ideally matched partners." The riders train in Aubenhausen together with excellent trainers on high-class and well-ridden horses. They also enter tournaments together which furthers the team spirit.
The environment in Aubenhausen is unparalleled. Horses and riders are able to really feel at home at the extensive and well-designed facility. The horses enjoy a symbiosis of varied training and daily exercise on the pastures. The Röwer & Rüb horsewalkers meet the horses’ basic need for exercise. The generously dimensioned and bright indoor lungeing arena was also supplied by Röwer & Rüb and offers ideal training conditions all year round. The horse stalls in the spacious stables are spread over several aisles. Jessica von Bredow-Werndl and Benjamin Werndl chose the Röwer & Rüb Hamburg, Hanover and Rome stall models. They all stand out due to their appealing design and functionality. Röwer & Rüb specialist Marc Poppel helped the Werndls to design and carry out their project.
