The new Social contact partition for even greater well-being – developed by Röwer & Rüb and Olympic Champion Jessica von Bredow-Werndl
“We take our cues from nature,” explains Benjamin Werndl. “Our goal is to keep the horses as naturally as possible. That includes outdoor movement as well as interaction with one another.”
Years ago, Jessica felt the desire to do even more for the horses, as the multiple Olympic gold medallist herself recounts: “It is our highest priority to give the horses the best possible life. So I asked our long-standing contact at Röwer & Rüb, Marc Poppel, what we could do to allow the horses even more social interaction.”
The result of this close collaboration: an innovative Social contact partition that can be flexibly installed into the partition walls of horse stalls. It allows targeted, controlled interaction between neighboring horses and consists of a sturdy, curved pipe structure, which can optionally be closed with a grille insert.
“I was surprised at how quickly and easily the system could be retrofitted. It is sturdy, well thought out, and absolutely practical,” says Benjamin Werndl about the new Social contact partition. Today, the solution has become part of everyday life in Aubenhausen: “The horses feel safe and loved; they play together, nuzzle, and sleep nose-to-nose. And we take no safety risks,” explains Jessica von Bredow-Werndl. For her, this project is proof of what close partnerships can achieve: practical innovation, safety, and quality of life for horses.
She says she is grateful that this special project could be realized side by side with Röwer & Rüb. Looking down her stable aisle, the Olympic Champion concludes:
“We are happy. And the horses are too.”
