In West Horsley, in the South of England not far from the vibrant city of London, HMF Equestrian is both a modern training facility and the home and passion project of showjumping sisters Amelie and Christina Gachoud. Nothing here is left to chance. Every detail reflects a clear commitment to functionality, equine welfare and refined architecture.
When it came to fitting out their facility, the Gachoud sisters placed their trust in Röwer & Rüb. The result is a stable concept that combines clarity of design with comfort and everyday practicality. A visit to the Röwer & Rüb showroom in Thedinghausen, Germany, proved particularly valuable, allowing them to explore the full range of possibilities and refine their vision.
They chose a mirrored layout with two separate stable wings, each comprising ten stalls – eight in the Amsterdam design and two in the Hannover model. Each wing also features its own wash and preparation area as well as a tack room designed by SeBo. This thoughtful layout gives both sisters their own stable aisle and a sense of privacy within the shared facility.
True quality reveals itself in the details. Rotating feed troughs allow for safe and time-efficient feeding, simplifying daily routines for both horses and staff. Solid bamboo partitions provide strength and calm, while elegant woven window grills add both security and light. Each stall offers a protected, quiet space where horses can settle and feel at ease.
Completed in summer 2022, the facility is defined not only by its stable aisles but also by a ten-horse covered horse walker. Finished entirely with an anthracite powder coating, it contributes to the refined overall aesthetic. The combination of horse walker and integrated 20-metre lunge ring makes efficient use of space and supports structured training routines. A pitched-roof extension and wind protection nets ensure comfort in all weather conditions – for horses, riders and the entire team.
