Röwer & Rüb equips the new stable complex for the FEI World Championships Aachen 2026

When the FEI World Championships Aachen 2026 begin in August, the attention of the international equestrian world will be focused on the competitions in dressage, show jumping, eventing, para dressage, driving and vaulting. Yet modern championship events demand far more than world-class sporting venues. Equally important are stable facilities that provide horses, riders and grooms with a safe, comfortable and functional environment throughout the event.
For the FEI World Championships Aachen 2026, five existing stable buildings at the grounds of the Aachen-Laurensberger Rennverein (ALRV) were replaced by a modern new facility. Röwer & Rüb planned and delivered the complete stable equipment for the new complex.

Horse welfare, safety and functionality at the forefront

From the very beginning, the safety and well-being of the horses were the highest priorities in the planning process. The stable area has been designed to create a calm and welcoming atmosphere, offering horses a sheltered place to relax amid the activity of a major international championship. Bright aisles and generously sized stalls contribute to an environment where both horses and people can feel at ease.
The facility features 204 Verden stalls, each measuring 3 x 4 metres. The stalls are equipped with extra-high solid wood partitions that can be fitted with contact grills, allowing horses to maintain social interaction where desired. Outside stable doors, barn doors and washing areas from Röwer & Rüb complete the installation, creating ideal conditions for safe, horse-friendly and practical day-to-day use.

Thoughtful details for everyday stable operations

Durable, low-maintenance materials were selected throughout the facility to withstand moisture, frequent disinfection and high-pressure cleaning. High-quality plastic boards in the stall and door infills, together with sustainable manure boards, combine functionality, longevity and a cohesive design.
Alongside horse welfare, operational efficiency also played a key role in the planning process. The building was designed to ensure easy access for the delivery of bedding, feed and equipment.
To simplify stable management, the outer partitions can be swung open, while the inner partitions can be retracted. This allows the entire facility to be mucked out mechanically, significantly reducing the workload for stable staff. Short distances between stalls, wash areas and supply zones further support the daily routines of riders, grooms and service teams.

“The stable facilities are essential for both horses and grooms, and this complex leaves nothing to be desired. I cannot think of another stable facility anywhere in Europe that offers this level of quality for event organisers. What is particularly remarkable is the consideration given to the grooms. Everything here is ideal. This is Champions League.”

– Isabell Werth, Olympic Champion and multiple World and European Champion

A Project with international significance

With the completion of the new facility in Aachen, Röwer & Rüb adds another internationally recognised project to its portfolio. Over the years, the company has delivered stable solutions for prestigious equestrian venues around the world, including Riesenbeck International, Sunshine Tour in Spain, Al Shaqab Equestrian Center in Qatar and the Olympic Games in Japan.

Modern stable design at the highest level

The new stable complex brings together horse welfare, efficient workflows and premium stable equipment within a holistic concept. The result is an environment that provides horses, riders and grooms with the conditions they need to perform at their best while ensuring comfort, safety and functionality throughout the FEI World Championships Aachen 2026.
