One horsewalker, countless possibilities

Horsewalkers that can be extended and retrofitted ensure maximum flexibility

Modular horse walker without roof, extended for multiple horses

A horsewalker plays an important role in everyday life for many sport and recreational horses. But what happens when personal requirements for the system change? No problem with the flexible, retrofittable horsewalkers from Röwer & Rüb.

Life has many surprises in store. Sometimes circumstances change and so do our needs. When building equestrian facilities it is therefore particularly annoying if conditions cannot be modified to accommodate these needs. Solutions that suited horses and their owners just a few years ago suddenly seem outdated. But there are many ways to retrofit the system and make the required changes efficiently. One example – the Röwer & Rüb horsewalkers.

Modular design for maximum flexibility

There is a basic difference between round and oval horsewalkers and the different drive systems. A roof, if required, can also be installed either over the entire horsewalker or only over the track. The number of horses that can use the horsewalker at the same time also varies depending on the customer's requirements.
The scenario could be as follows: The owner of an equestrian centre opted for a horsewalker for four horses years ago – but now the centre has expanded. "In most cases we can easily add extra capacity for more horses," comments Flurin Cadalbert, who has been advising and supporting customers for Röwer & Rüb for around three decades. "It is obviously important that the diameter of the system is large enough, as every horse needs enough space to exercise."

Training in all weathers – this is also possible at a later date

Cadalbert comments that it is also possible to retrofit a roof over the track or completely cover the horsewalker. This is particularly simple with round horsewalkers. Weather protection for training can be added in a flash.
Why is all this still possible years after the horsewalker was installed? One reason is the modular design, explains Cadalbert. Secondly, all steel parts used are hot-dip galvanised and therefore particularly durable. This material quality ensures that retrofitting can still be worthwhile even after many years. "A good example is a customer I had the honour of looking after some time ago. She had been running her horsewalker for a decade and then moved to a different location. Her round horsewalker was still fully functional. To suit her new needs we increased the diameter from 13 to 15 metres, integrated compartments for six instead of four horses and added a track roof."

A feel-good place that never stands still

Flurin Cadalbert adds that even the concept of sustainability can be easily done justice in this way. Even years later, retrofitting is generally more attractive and easier than a new construction –  so why start from scratch when it can be so easy?
For many equestrian centres a horsewalker is now one of the most fundamental features of everyday stable life. It goes without saying that these systems from the traditional company Röwer & Rüb can be flexibly customised and expanded – even years later. Just like any other home, an equestrian centre should evolve with the needs of the people and horses that use it and fit seamlessly into everyday life. This is the only way to provide the elements that make it a real home – a place that makes everyone happy.
