With our Aquatrainer you can aid the healing process of your horse after injuries. The Röwer & Rüb Aquatrainer helps to gently rebuild muscles, ligaments and tendons. Both as part of rehabilitation treatment and as regular training – your horse can train in water in a way that is gentle on the joints but still effective.
This not only builds up muscles effectively, but also improves coordination and mobility. The Aquatrainer ensures that your horse stays fit and healthy – for many successful training sessions and a long, healthy life.
What makes our Aquatrainer for horses so special
- Simple and safe: With the front and rear doors with a one-hand safety lock, your horse can be easily led in and out. Handling is intuitive, fast and safe.

Comfort and safety for your horse
- Extra-long interior dimension of 420 cm: Your horse can stretch freely forwards and downwards without being restricted by the construction – and without any annoying neck opening.
- No fixation, only padding: Instead of bars or chains, our Aquatrainer features soft pads on the front and rear doors. This gives your horse more freedom of movement and comfort.
- Flat tread surface without side deflector plates: The tread surface remains level and stable even when the water is moving. Your horse always has a firm stance, which ensures stress-free and safe training.
Technical details on stability and safety
- Inlet plates at the front and rear: The slightly angled plates are attached directly to the treadmill to prevent any accidents caused by trapping of the horseshoes.
- Robust stainless steel construction (V2A): Our Aquatrainer is made of durable stainless steel for the best possible corrosion protection. We also offer a VA4 construction as an option, which is ideal for use with salt water.
- Transparent and impact-resistant Macrolon panes: The fully glazed side wall allows you to keep a close eye on your horse's movements during training.
- Easy to maintain: The treadmill can be pulled out like a drawer, allowing quick and easy repairs and maintenance without having to take the device apart.
- Customised speed: With the infinitely variable speed control of up to 10 km/h, you can programme training perfectly to suit your horse’s needs. A trotting version with a speed of up to 15 km/h and a hydraulic incline function of up to six degrees are also available as options.
Intelligent control and safety functions
- No electric components in the water: The geared motor is mounted outside the water, which makes it easily accessible for maintenance work and safe to operate – without any risk to your horse.
- Panic function: In the event of an accident, the motor switches off automatically. The frequency inverter monitors operation and reacts to unusually high resistances.
- Simple control: You can customise the speed and water level using the intuitive panel on the platform.
Environmentally friendly water treatment
- No chemical additives: Our innovative full filtration system purifies the water without the use of chemicals. This provides a healthy and natural environment for your horse and is gentle to its skin at the same time.
- Sustainable water management: With full filtration version II, the water can be reused for up to eight weeks. This saves valuable resources, lowers costs and makes an active contribution to environmental protection.
Technical and therapeutic instruction
- Comprehensive induction: When you purchase the Aquatrainer, you will be offered a two-day training session with a specialist or vet, covering both technical handling and therapeutic use. We also offer customised training plans on request to make your training even more effective.

- Droppings sack with harness: The practical droppings sack ensures that the water stays clean and can be used for a longer period of time.

Frequently asked questions about the Aquatrainer for horses
A distance of 2.50 - 3.00 m from the nearest wall should be provided to the front and rear of the Aquatrainer for leading the horse in and out. The space required also depends on the installation options: If installed without a recess, the Aquatrainer requires an additional 1.50 m space per side for the ramps. With recessed installation, this additional space is not required.
A sufficient technical area for the filter system and the water tank is also required.

Yes, the Aquatrainer can be installed both indoors and outdoors as long as the technical requirements such as sufficient ventilation and a power supply are met. It is also important that both the Aquatrainer and the equipment are installed under a roof to provide protection against the rain and sun. Please also note that the Aquatrainer cannot be used if there is any risk of frost.

The Aquatrainer requires around 4,000 litres of water for operation. An 8,000 litre water tank is often used in conjunction with full filtration version II. This means that training can continue seamlessly, even if the water from the previous session is still being filtered. This ensures smooth operation without any downtimes.
