Lunging arenas
Running an equestrian centre requires a special system. Riders of different levels, horses with special characteristics and peak times have to be handled. Many riders will be familiar with the problem that horse owners who come into the indoor arena or the outdoor riding grounds to lunge their horses are quickly seen as a disruptive factor.
Lunging arenas can be a welcome solution in the riding business
and enable horse owners and trainers to train young horses undisturbed, to carefully motivate convalescents, to train vaulting horses or simply to lunge the horse before riding. Moreover, you can work with the horses regardless of the weather. For all these reasons there is much to be said for a separate area for lungeing.
The Röwer & Rüb lunging arenas are the result of decades of experience. Safety, functionality and durability are always at the forefront of all further developments. Röwer & Rüb builds lunging arenas of up to 20 metres in diameter as 10-sided versions, and larger versions with 12 sides.
The arenas are made of a hot-dip galvanized steel construction. They can be equipped with steel or glued laminated wood trusses and are available with different roof variants. Ventilation ridges in the roof prevent the accumulation of heat in the round arena. Safe and robust fence elements made of hot-dip galvanised steel with hardwood filling close off the arenas to the outside. A double-winged gate allows safe access to and from the arena. Furthermore, we recommend equipping the lunging arenas with wind protection nets so that undisturbed work is possible even in turbulent weather.
Lunging arenas are buildings which require a permit. For this reason, a corresponding application must be submitted to the local building authorities before construction begins. As a rule, lunging halls have a steel construction. This requires EN 1090 certification. Röwer & Rüb lunging arenas are always supplied with all construction drawings, structural engineering calculations as well as all necessary certificates required for a building application.
