Care instructions for bamboo
Bamboo is an ecological, dimensionally stable and visually attractive material that is characterized by its strength, comparable to that of steel. It does not twist or warp like other tropical woods and contains no tannic acids that could be washed out. However, unlike many tropical woods, bamboo has no natural protection against fungi and algae, so careful care is particularly important.

Why does the material need to be cleaned?
In environments such as stables, where bamboo is frequently used, spores and bacteria can multiply quickly. The moulds present in the stable air can settle on the surface of bamboo, as bamboo provides a food source due to its natural starch and sugar content. These discolourations caused by mould are usually purely visual in nature and do not affect the physical properties of the bamboo. Regular care prevents such discolouration and preserves the attractive appearance of the material.
How is cleaning carried out?
Superficial discolouration can simply be removed by washing it off with a sponge. To prevent the lightening of the material caused by weathering, we recommend basic cleaning, followed by after-care with a suitable oil, as is also usual for other types of wood. The use of high-pressure cleaners or steam jet devices is not recommended, as these can damage the surface.
The elements must be protected from soiling and damage during construction work after the stable equipment has been installed. Soiling caused by mortar, paint, concrete etc. must be removed immediately.
For the optimal care of your products, we offer our bamboo care oil.
